Animal Skulls
Monday, October 27th, 2008Human Skulls
Monday, October 27th, 2008Many skull collectors choose not to collect real human skulls for ethical and moral reasons. Unless a collector knows for sure where the skull has come from it is unlikely that they will add it to their collection. Real skulls tend to find their homes in museums as parts of excavations.
Real human skulls need more care than fake ones. They are generally more fragile, prone to cracking and for that reason complete skulls tend to be quite rare. Skulls also discolour as they age although they can be bleached to give a cleaner white appearance.
